An update in 4 parts.

We're going camping this weekend, just overnight. Kitty is over the moon. It'll be fun, but it will be even more fun because she is so jazzed. And no, we're not crazy. Overnight low 60, day time high 80.

My poor baboo has an ouchy toe. He bonked it some crazy way that made his big toe nail loosen, but only on one side, so eventually the other side had to kind of rip off. And while that was going on, the nail under the loose part started to grow in, so it's all willy nilly. It's kind of inflamed, but he doesn't care about being gentle with it, so it doesn't really get to heal. He doesn't know that tonight he's going to soak his foot in warm salt water. And if that won't work, then just a warm bath will probably help.

In other news, I'm working on a frankenhat, y'all. Started off as an adorable navy hat for Teddy with a cabled band.

Quirk 1: It's too big.
Quirk 2: When I started the plain stretch after the cabled band, I forgot I meant to include the twisted knit-purlx5-twisted knit columns for a little continuity, so the plain stockinette part is a little jarring.
Quirk 3: Due to #1 and the cables, I started to run out of yarn. Who can't get an infant hat out of a ball of worsted? Me, apparently, so now there are ivory stripes at the crown to make sure I can finish it!

Haha. I really hope that when it's done, the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts. Because there are a lot of parts. I'm going to try and finish it on our trip.

Annd,

He and Kitty had their first argument the other day before we left for daycare. He was cruising around and found a balloon she got at a birthday party, Kitty saw him, and tried to take it away. She was saying, "Give it back, Teddy! It's not yours! Give it back!" And he was adamant, clutching the balloon, looking her square in the eyes, wrinkling his little nose, and matching her phrase for phrase with emphatic babble with perfectly calibrated volume.

"Give it back, Teddy!"
"Ahhh da da ba dit!"
"It's not yours!"
"Maaaaaaaaah da ba!"
"Give it back!"
"Ahhhhhhhhhhh na na!"

Guess I should read that copy of Siblings without Rivalry.
