Workity-work work

Yesterday I hosted a half day training for 350 teachers. I wrote the presentation, wrote the presenter notes, recruited the presenters, trained the presenters, coordinated the creation and transport of all the materials, and stepped in and presented at the last minute when one of my presenters froze up and bailed.

Whew. But, an ego boost, because other people have half days subsequent to mine, and they're not half as prepared as me. HAH-ha.

In other news, I think I need a juicer. I've been making fruit/veggie juice drinks--they're usually called green drinks on the internet. I've been doing them in a blender and then running them through a sieve. Without the sieve, it's just too fibrous. Though funny enough, Teddy LOVES to slurp down the grass clippings--I mean, blended veggies.

Today's recipe was half an apple (peeled and cored), a slightly underripe mango (peeled and cored), a handful of baby carrots, juice of half a lemon, handful of spinach, handful of mixed baby lettuce, and about a cup of water or enough to get it blending. Blend it all for a couple of minutes and strain. If I had a juicer, I could skip the straining step. But I have heard juicers are harder to clean. Who knows.

Oh, how does it taste? Pretty good. The spinach definitely adds a very vegetal flavor, which is different. Plus, it's a huge vitamin and mineral boost. And thanks to Costco, it's mostly organic. Costco sells 1 pound containers of organic greens for $3.99. Do you know how much spinach is in a pound. A lot.
