Working backwards...

Teddy had his VCUG this morning to check his kidneys for reflux. It was a pretty simple procedure and he was annoyed when the cath went in, but it didn't seem to hurt. They let me stay right by him and hold his hands and head. Altogether it was less traumatic than I feared. We find out the results on Thursday.

In other news, I need to start nudging his schedule just a smidge earlier. He seems to be falling into a pattern of sleeping 6-7 hours with a sidelying nursing snack, which is great, except that it starts at 2am after a 3 hour alert phase. 11pm-6am would be so much more pleasant than 2am-9am. I think tonight we will do a longish bath (which he could use anyway) and other activity starting around 9pm to try and nudge that awake time a little earlier.

For NYE we went to a lovely party where the kids were entertained upstairs with a babysitter and the grownups played board games and chatted and hung out. I didn't know how long we would stay, but we had such a nice time we made it to about 11:30. Everyone was fading, so we toasted the new year Eastern time.

After Christmas Dan and Kim came to stay for a few weeks and were super helpful with Kitty and around the house. Christmas eve and day were nice and quiet here at home. Before that, Kate came to hang out for a while. It was so good to have the extra hands while Kitty was on Christmas break.

Officially, Teddy's arrival was pretty smooth and I had a great experience in the hospital again. Love the nurses, love the room service, love the on demand painkillers...

Again, I'm resolved to update stuff here a lot more...

Lots of new photos at Picasa.
