Friday Kitty had her first sleepover at a friend's house. It was all the girls' idea, so even thought she is only 3.5 (and her buddy is 4.5) the other mom and I decided to give it a try. I slept with my phone, but didn't need it. She was entirely a cool cucumber and can't wait to do it again. The evening felt pretty normal, but waking up without her in the house was a little odd!
Then we had a birthday party on Saturday and then a trip to Target to pick up K's preschool exchange gift. She had honed in on this one stuffed unicorn while she was in Target with a friend of ours, and insisted that's what she wanted to get. Except I didn't know where it was. Talk about preschooler determination and drive! She hunted down that unicorn. Which turned out to be cute and surprisingly only $5 so I let her pick a couple gaudy ornaments to go on the package as well.
Yesterday we went to the mall to see Santa. We went to the further away mall to meet a friend, and they wanted $25 for a chintzy insta-print photo with Santa! And wouldn't let you take a picture unless you bought one. The mall by us lets you snap a photo for free! The benefits of living in the ghetto. Luckily, K was happy with a chat with Santa.
This week I've got a half day today, full day tomorrow, half days the rest of the week, appointments on Wednesday, half day for K on Thursday, Christmas party for K on Thursday evening... and oh yeah, brother baby's due date is tomorrow. And even with all the potential disruption, he can come any old minute he wants to.
