Bragging on Kitty

I had a great miniconference with Kitty's main teacher a little while ago. Kitty has really moved forward in the last little while, and has moved to a whole new level of Montessori "work." Her teacher said it was like she just made up her mind and here we go. She wanted to speak with me because if K keeps progressing at this rate, they may want to move her to the next class in January instead of waiting until she's officially four. I reminded her that the baby was coming in December, and we agreed they would be really mindful of if the transition would be good for her at that moment. One option would be to do an extended visitation schedule to the next class so K could get comfortable. I'm a teensy bit worried, because K is SUPER attached to her teachers in the room she is in, and it's the only room she has ever known. But I figure they do this all the time, and I know they will be mindful of her needs.

She's getting a lot of reading sight words and her writing is great. Check these out:

She sounded out the Happy Birthday on the card. I'm not sure if it is H BIY or if it's HPIY for "happy" but either way, you can really see her phonics development. Or maybe you only can if you're an ed development geek. I told her the letters of DADDY THEO at her request.
