Back in the habit...

I had a funny and perplexing conversation with Kitty. The backstory is that we canceled the cable this week, and she's getting used to it.

"Mama, what shows are On Demand?"
"We don't have On Demand anymore, sweetie, sorry."
"NO! I am TALKING TO YOU, Mama! What shows are On Demand?"
"I'm talking to you too. But we don't have On Demand anymore."
"MAMA. I. AM. JUST. TALKING. TO. YOU. What kind of shows are On Demand?"

It took another iteration or two before I realized that her repetition of "just talking to you" was her way of telling me that she wasn't ASKING for a show and she KNEW we didn't have On Demand, she just wanted to talk ABOUT the shows On Demand.

So we talked about them (Little Bear, Jack's Big Music Show, etc), and she was happy.

This weekend we have a lot of stuff going on. Small get together this evening, and two preschool birthday parties this weekend. Pray for me as I face ChuckECheese on Saturday and the bouncy place on Sunday, after church, no less.

At Target last night, I wanted to get K a new pair of church sandals for the warm weather, but she only wanted shoes that were pink. The sparklier or shinier the better. It took some negotation, but I finally got my plain white sandals in exchange for a $2 pair of tacky pink plastic flip flops.
