Kitty and I had a great jam-packed spring break. You can see the photos at the picasa site.
I've had an up and down weekend. Theo goes to work on his book on Friday and Saturday nights, so Kitty and I have a couple quiet solo evenings that we enjoy. Friday night was fine. Except I had a reoccurance of that back spasm I've been battling for a while and a bout of stomach upset. Basically, if I let myself get too hungry, and then eat, I get a painful stomach bloat and cramping. It's annoying, but the pattern is clear and it's hormonally influenced, so I just need to make sure I have reasonable snacks around.
So I was still feeling both of those Saturday morning. We went to a totally rational preschooler birthday party! I'm starting to get a little disappointed that we haven't been invited to any of the etiquette disaster cost a mint types. Well, not really. Anyway, playground party, jumpy house, fruit, cupcakes, cheetos for everyone. And a Darth Vader pinata. I think Kitty is definitely getting a pinata for her next party. They let a big girl be in the middle of the line, and she took it down before some of the littles got a whack, but they were happy enough whacking the helmet part that was still hanging.
Then my SIL and BIL popped in for a little hang out, and after that we were off to an alumni party for my high school. It was really good, but my pain level was getting worse and worse. About 10 minutes before the official end, I was nudging Theo to go, and he kept getting dragged into conversations. I was bad off enough that the host asked if I was ok and commented I looked uncomfortable. I'm pretty stoic and have a pretty high pain tolerance, so if she noticed, I was definitely miserable. We eventually left, and I asked Theo to put off writing until tomorrow, and crawled into bed for the rest of the evening. This morning I feel much better, and I think I'm going to take ibuprofen on schedule today to try and stay ahead of it. And next time it gets bad, I'm going back to my chiro.
Today Kitty and I are going to a seedling exchange this afternoon, and before that I'm going to try and give her a haircut. Since it's curly, I don't have to worry about the ends being straight. As it's gotten longer, it's gotten frizzier, and I think taking it shorter will help bring back the glossy sausage curls. My hair lady will cut hers for free when I get mine done, but I don't feel like getting mine done right now, so I'm going to go for it.
